How to Survive Nocturne
Shorten the dark, watch the vials, and get one living player to the hatch. That is the whole job.
Survivors do not win Nocturne by killing the monster in a fair fight. They win by leaving. The Roblox description is blunt: fix breaker boxes to shorten blackouts, loot tools, watch players who linger near vials, and when the lights go out and the gas pours in, escape to the next area. If even one of you hatches, the living side takes the match. This page is how to be that one person — or the teammate who made the hatch possible.
Pair it with breaker boxes for the objective itself and serum for the tell you are hunting. If you would rather be the threat, use how to play Nocturne instead.
Your real objectives, in order
- Power. Every second you shave off a blackout is a second the night form does not have. Breakers are not optional flavour; they are the Survivor win condition’s best friend.
- Information. Who walked toward vials with empty hands? Who never touched a breaker? Who arrived “late” to every group task?
- Tools. Flashlights, utilities, anything that keeps you moving when gas hits. Loot while you rotate, not as a separate AFK session.
- The hatch. Two cycles, two blackouts, one extract. Do not farm loot during the window that actually ends the game.
If you only remember one sentence: busy Survivors look innocent; idle Survivors look thirsty. The hidden player wants you standing still.
Reading the lobby without voice chat
Voice is not supported. You get footsteps, silhouettes, and votes. Use them.
- Buddy system, not a conga line. Two people on a breaker is coverage. Six people on one box is a buffet when the lights die.
- Cross-checks. If you finish a box, glance at the next one. An untouched breaker in a full lobby is either a bad team or a monster who refused to help.
- Vial gravity. Serum has to be drunk. Someone will visit those props. Watch linger time, not a single walk-by.
- Gas movement. When the description says escape to the next area, do it. Pride deaths in the old room are free kills.
The suspicion checklist exists for this. Use it between matches until the habits stick.
Blackout behaviour
The night is when the Nocturne stops acting. You should do the opposite of panic sprinting in a straight line down the most lit corridor — that is a highlight reel for Nightweaver or Wraith.
- Pre-plan the next room before the lights fail.
- Keep a tool ready; fumbling loot in the dark is how people get isolated.
- If you see a teammate stand still in the open, they are either stunned, baiting, or already dead. Do not run in to “check” unless you have a second body with you.
- After the lights return, count heads. A missing player is information. A player who is suddenly helpful after a death is also information.
Voting without throwing
Nocturnes are told to lie, deceive, and vote out the innocent. You should vote like a coward with notes.
- Accuse with a fact: “Player X stood at vials for the whole first cycle and skipped both breakers.” Not “Player X walked funny.”
- Never vote the only person who has been on power unless you watched them drink. You might be deleting your win condition.
- If two people hard-commit to the same target with no evidence, one of them may be the monster creating a story.
- A tied or messy vote that wastes the social window is a stealth win for the hidden role. Decide, then go back to boxes.
Hatch discipline
The hatch is not a participation trophy. It is the match. When the second cycle is in motion:
- Stop greed-looting.
- Stop solo hunts for the monster “to be sure.”
- Funnel whoever is healthiest and closest toward the out. The rest of you buy seconds with breakers and body-blocking, not hero duels.
One escape is a win. Three dead heroes and a closed hatch is a loss. The match planner is a pre-game reminder of that math.
Loadout and account extras
Redeem codes so Runes exist on the account, even if you never play the monster. Shop unlocks still change what you face. Learn controls on your device so you are not fighting the HUD when gas starts. Map language from the Ruined Cathedral showcase transfers: corners hide drinks, long halls punish late rotations.
What not to do
- Do not tunnel the first name in chat. Early random votes are monster food.
- Do not ignore vials because “that is the killer’s job.” Watching them is your job.
- Do not use ESP scripts to skip the social game. They are a ban risk and they make you worse when you play clean. See the scripts hub only if you need the warning in writing.
Survive the night by being useful in the light. The dark is shorter when you touch the power, and the hatch is closer when you stop treating this like a deathmatch.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What should Survivors do first in a trial?
Find breaker boxes and start power work, loot while rotating, and note anyone camping serum vials. Details in breaker boxes.
How do Survivors actually win?
If even one Survivor escapes through the hatch, Survivors win. Protect that extract; you do not need a full team out.
How do I spot the Nocturne?
Watch vial linger time, skipped breakers, and who pushes votes with no facts. The serum guide covers drink tells.
Should I hide the whole blackout?
Hiding without a plan gets you left behind when the gas forces a room change. Pre-aim the next area and move with a partner.
